...York Times praised him as follows: "Individually, Fritz Pollard, a lithe, dusky, six-foot half back, displayed the cleverest all-around backfield success attained on Yale Field this season. In end running, forward passing, in executing a bewildering criss-cross and delayed pass run, which was Brown's trump card, in running back punts, in side stepping and dodging Yale tackles in a broken field, Pollard gave a peerless performance. His head line exhibition brought the crowd of 25,000 spectators up with a roar in the opening minutes of the final period. Catching a punt hoisted aloft to midfield...
...happy days are gone when every body can look forward to becoming president of the United State. One mis-sent Dartmouth forward pass, which Driggs intercepted and carried 65 yards for a touchdown, spelled victory for the Nassau team, although in the beginning of the game Dartmouth led by one field goal. The first score of the season against Princeton was made by Captain Gerrish, of the Hanover team, who kicked a placement...
...Princeton began to prepare for the University, with the Bucknell team not greatly feared. This game really proved to be merely incidental in the schedule for Bucknell was downed by the large score of 42 to 0. A larger score was prevented only by the failure of Princeton's forward and lateral passes of which it tried many...
