With the exception of this one completed forward pass, the game was confined to the line-bucking type of play, the University covering 320 yards in 75 plays, with 16 first downs, the Amherst team netting only 50 yards in 33 rushes, and securing only one first down, of which they lost the benefit because of a holding penalty. The failure of the visitors to gain more ground was due in large part to the excellent work of the backs in the secondary defense, T. C. Thacher, Jr., '18 proving to be an especially strong defensive player...

...Freshmen had a hard scrimmage with the second team yesterday afternoon which the seconds won 7 to 0. The 1920 eleven was able to work itself toward the second team's goal by straight rushes and a couple of long forward passes, but found its opponents' line impervious and was held for downs on the 5-yard line. The second team punted out and recovered the Freshmen's fumble of the punt. The only score was then secured on a line-buck by N. V. Nelson '18, after the ball had been carried the length of the field...
