...last number of the Advocate is a fairly good one. The editorials are far above the average, being on interesting although rather old subjects, and being written in a plain and straight forward style. With most of them we agree, but the one dealing with the "refusal of a local barber to shave a member of the University" is a rather flippant treatment of a serious subject. The "College Kodaks" which in this number follow the editorials are unusally bright. There are only three of them, but none falls flat and the second is really a very good story...
Newell, 3, goes back too far, does not get started forward quickly enough, and so breaks the time of the boat...
...time of the year when Class Day is absorbing so much attention to know its development and to see how the present festivities compare with those of earlier years. There is no day more dear to the hearts of Seniors than that day to which they have constantly looked forward, Class Day. A hundred years ago the same remark might have been made in regard to commencement, which within late years, for undergraduates at least, has been surpreseded in the hearts of the students by Class Day. It is interesting to watch the rise and fall of these two celebrations...
