...find how things were going on the 2,500-acre farm which the President bought while convalescing at Warm Springs in 1925 (TIME, Dec. 10). Manager Moore, father of five, reported the best crops in years, said the farm's two white and five Negro tenant families looked forward to a reasonably comfortable winter. The farm, which directly adjoins a New Deal homestead project, has never paid its own way, but this year Manager Moore thought that it might even show a profit. Most of the farm's crops go to feed its 130 cattle, he explained...
...reviving prosperity. More than ever alive to the importance of the sport, college officials have rearranged their schedules. Instead of easy set-ups early in the season to prepare for climactic games later, most major teams now play able opponents exclusively, draw correspondingly bigger crowds. Rules designed to encourage forward passes and spectacular ground plays have made the game more attractive to spectators. New roads have made it easier to get to games while Repeal has made it pleasanter. A decade ago, only a few late-season games drew more than 50,000 each. Last week's two biggest...

Only if young clinicians lack topics do older clinicians step forward. Thus, when this medical society met in Chicago last week, young doctors were stimulated to report on the following matters...
Front-wheel drive is no novelty. Cords with forward driving axles were introduced in 1929, discontinued in 1932. What made the new Cord exciting was that it incorporated front-wheel drive in a completely new design. The body is low and sleek with a rounded rectangular one-piece hood that opens from the front and is banded with vane-like "Venetian" (blind) louvers. Water and oil caps are under a cowl lid on the right, matching a cowl ventilator on the left. Front lights are retractable like an airplane's landing gear, disappearing into the fenders when little cranks...
