Usage:

Wigglesworth, in a heroic resolve to take up a new life, has thrown away his cigarette case, which has his name engraved upon it. This has been found by James Christopher Lovewater, a missionary on his way to Japan. Lovewater meets the lawyer Smith who takes the possession of the cigarette case as proof that the fortune which he has to bestow should go to Lovewater. The latter, now refunded, takes the same ship with the Lifters and Wigglesworth to Japan. Owing to various complications Wigglesworth is arrested by the Marquis Hari Kari, after the party has arrived in Japan...

...most important object added last year is the reproduction in concrete of a sandstone slab, dating from about 1280 from the tomb of Ulrich, Baron of Regensburg. The slab, which is the gift of Dr. Angst of Zurich, was found when the old fortifications of Zurich were destroyed in 1903 imbedded face down in one of the towers. ...decided improvement in the form of the Treasurer's Statement is found in the exhibition of receipts and expenses and the resulting surpluses or deficits in the various accounts. A glance at these tables suffices to show where endowment is needed. The word "deficit" as applied to some of the tables, however, needs explanation. In the case of the Chapel, for example, there being only a small endowment, almost the entire running expense appears as "deficit."
