...University crew went out first and rowed down-stream to the Navy Yard and back, followed by Coach Wray in the launch "John Harvard." After the University crew, the two University fours and the Freshman eight and four went out. Parker, one of the Freshman substitutes, stroked the second University four-oar in the absence of Waite, who was delayed in getting to the quarters. The practice for all the crews was very light, being mostly for the purpose of limbering up. The work of the University crew seemed still to be slightly off color, but the University four...

...University and second four-oars went up-stream. Tabor and Smith were both again tried at 3 in the second four, and it has not yet been decided which one will be taken to New London. The Freshman eight and fours also practiced up-stream. Several brushes were held between the fours and the orders were continually changed, but it is expected that a definite four-oar and substitutes will be picked today. The launch "John Harvard" left for New London early Wednesday morning and all the shells will follow after practice tomorrow...

After winning against the second University crew last Saturday, Coach Courtney decided to row the same eight against Harvard in Monday's race, and he divided his university crew up into two four-oars. Seven men in the crew, including the coxswain, were in last year's freshman boat. Kelley, at No. 3 rowed bow in last year's university four-oar, and Weed, at stroke, rowed the same position in the gentlemen's four of two years ago. The crew rows the long, steady...

...took a long row up the lake three miles and back, at a slow stroke, accompanied by Coach Wray in Coach Courtney's launch. No sprints or racing starts were tried. The Freshman crew took the same kind of work, rowing four miles in all. The four substitutes from the University and Freshman squads made up a four-oar and went out in one of the Cornell shells...
