Harvard won from the Newtons on Holmes Field yesterday afternoon by a score of 8 to 2. Wiggin pitched and was very effective, holding the Newtons down to two singles and striking out fourteen men. Harvard for four innings was very weak at the bat. In the fourth she scored one run on a base on balls, a stolen base and an excusable error by left field. In the fifth an error, two steals and four singles netted three runs, none of them being earned. An equally good batting streak was found in the seventh, during which four hits, one of them a three-bagger, three steals, an error and a sacrifice again increased Harvard's lead, this time by four runs, one being earned...

Orcutt did some great volleying and won with a score of 6-2. Hoppin took a decided brace in the fourth and paid Orcutt back in his own coin, winning by the same score 6-2.
