Until a few weeks ago there had been a great deal of complaint about the bad ventilation of Appleton Chapel, particularly on Sunday; but the evil has been removed by the simple expedient of starting the ventilating fans a little early, so that the air is fresh when the audience enters, while the fans are called upon only to keep it fresh as fast as consumed.
