...lessons of history. If Germany was to learn from the past instead of trying to forget it, the country would surely be in a far better position. It is widely reported that the far right is on the rise in Europe. By banning these organizations we only add fuel to their fire and, more worryingly, force them underground. Banning reprints of Nazi books only restricts learning about past horrors and is tantamount to Nazi book-burning. Banning gnomes is ridiculous; even the Nazis would not have done that. ...allies are not saying Iran is currently developing nuclear weapons; they're warning that allowing Iran to assemble the full nuclear-fuel cycle to which it is entitled as a signatory of the Non-Proliferation Treaty - particularly uranium enrichment - gives it an infrastructure that could quickly be converted to produce bomb matériel. Stating Washington's case at the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna this week, Ambassador Glyn Davies warned that Iran had already created enough low-enriched uranium that, if it kicked out nuclear inspectors and reconfigured its enrichment plant, could be re-enriched to provide...
...Eaton Manufacturing plant in Roxboro, N.C., makes a 3-in. gadget called a lash adjuster that keeps pressure constant on engine valves, increasing fuel efficiency. One of the harmful byproducts of not telling the truth about what happened is that it did fuel all sorts of conspiracy theories about what might have happened. If what the government is telling you isn't true, then the truth could be anything. But my experience suggests that government lacks competence to carry off an elaborate conspiracy like what is being talked about with 9/11. I think there is evidence that the truth wasn't told...
...former church and prefers to hide from the mechanical beasts. Given that the dolls are about eight inches tall and the mechanical beasts appear to be the size of dinosaurs or giant arachnids, this seems rational enough. The dolls have no needs (not for air, food or fuel, although they find an occasional lightbulb useful) and neither do the machines, so you'd think everyone could go to their respective corners and mind their own business while enjoying the stinking remains of human society. Instead, the dolls, led by Number 9, get roped into fighting mankind's last battle...
