Goose-stepping Nazis have long marched smartly to the brassy, thumpy music of the Badenweiler march. No. 256 in the catechism of German Army marches, it was composed on the battlefield in 1914 by Bandmaster Georg Furst of Adolf Hitler's Bavarian Regiment. Herr Hitler first heard it at the Munich Hofbrauhaus, whose themesong it was.
