Your item "Bush's Furor Over Der Fuhrer" [NOTEBOOK, Sept. 30] reported that President Bush "lost it when he heard that German Justice Minister Herta Daubler-Gmelin compared him to Hitler." As an American living in Germany, I was a little concerned about all the fuss created by Daubler-Gmelin's supposed remarks. What ever happened to free speech?
