...their chins, but the rest of the political spectrum is clean-shaven. So the whiskers of Mitzna, who was picked last week to lead the Labor Party into national elections in January, have come to symbolize the enigma of this newcomer. Is there a strong, decisive chin beneath the fuzz, or is he soft and fluffy, like the beard? Labor's 130,000 members voted overwhelmingly to find out. Many who supported Mitzna in the primary say they don't really know what kind of a man he is, but that anything's better than the man he defeated, party...

...When nobody freaked out, I knew we were a band." Knowing you're a band and convincing listeners are two different things. It's odd hearing Cornell, one of the few rock singers who can belt it out high and clear, fight through Morello's machine-gun fuzz on Cochise. And when Cornell goes mellow on Hypnotize, you just presume Morello would rather be fret dancing. But what separates Linkin Park from the rest of the rapidly expanding nu-metal field is that the band's six members--Bennington, Hahn, 24, rapper Mike Shinoda, 24, guitarist Brad Delson, 24, bassist Phoenix (just Phoenix, thanks), 24, and drummer Rob Bourdon, 23--inject nearly everything they do (save their songs) with a sweetly humanistic approach. They may scream "Shut up when...
