Harvard had the west end of the field with the sun at her back while Princeton had the kick off. The ball was dribbled to Poe who ran behind the V of Princeton rushers and gained ten yards. Cowan failed to gain and Black could force his way ahead only a few feet. On the third down Ames kicked.
