...times of mortal peril, always on the brink of devastation by those Communist powers that seek to crush us by moving ahead of us in scientific techniques. These nations seek the perfection of intricate devices, weaponry, missiles and air power. In this way they confidently expect that they will gain the mastery of space, the domination of the tides and the conquest of the atmosphere. The laboratories and research facilities which this so-called recommended route will destroy or cripple constitute a primary scientific arsenal of democracy in this gruelling struggle to maintain the balance of scientific power...

Another exceptional squad is the wrestling team. Its members have fought to gain a 6-0-1 record, including an impressive 24-16 victory over Springfield, one of the East's strongest teams. The chief Varsity prospect is Danny Naylor, who may be the best 130 pounder to have entered Harvard in a decade. Coach Johnny Lee feels that Naylor could move into varsity competition immediately. With that, A.T. &T. stock rallied for a 21-point gain to 611. The FCC insists its aim is merely to learn whether the yardstick it has long used to regulate A.T. & T. rates-the company's profit on its investment-is outdated. "We don't know if our rate-making philosophy is going to change or not," said FCC Chairman E. William Henry last week. "Up to now, the company...

There is no doubt that combined revenues from the Mystic Bridge and Logan have enabled the entire operation to function without a drain on the taxpayer. But it is also true that the combined Authority has produced a very discouraging record for the port itself. The rate of gain in short tonnage has not increased appreciably since the Authority assumed control in 1959, and an even more depressing note is revealed in the number of ships visiting the port, which decreased by 361 ships from '59 to '64. The fact is simply that the MPA has not increased or even...
