Ninety-five started the game with a V, and made a good gain, which was followed up by a series of quick rushes, and finally McNear carried the ball over for the first touch-down; no goal. Perry Trafford, Cranston and Cumnock were coaching and they seemed to put new life into the men. Cumnock coached the line men in defensive work and they did so well that with the exception of three long gains made in the last ten minutes of an hours hard play, the second eleven backs did not make a gain of over five yards. The most noticeable fault was that of the backs dropping the ball when tackled. Newell, Acton, Fairchild, Waters and Emmons, did most of the tackling for the 'varsity, and once Newell broke through and stopped a punt. Hallowell played well but allowed one long gain to be made around his end. For the second eleven Foster played the best game, he tackled hard and low and seemed to be always on hand. Borden and Fennessy ran well for the second, each making a touch down after long runs through the left end of the 'varsity line. There was a great deal of punting done during the game, and Trafford made several beautiful returns...
