The germs are cultured for many germ generations in glycerinated ox-gall until they become non-virulent. If fed to infants in three doses during the first ten days of life, the vaccine is supposed to immunize them against tuberculosis. Dr. William Hallock Park, director of the New York civic health laboratories, has certified Dr. Calmette's claims. Last week he said: "We have not had a single accident in the use of the vaccine." Charming but not brilliant, Mârouf might have caused no great stir had not the cover of its program been drawn by one of California's authentic Personages...

...makeup, for each year she takes a house near the lake, spends long days swimming. Soon other Ravinia favorites will appear in the season's two remaining novelties: Soprano Lucrezia Bori and Tenor Edward Johnson in Deems Taylor's Peter Ibbetson, and tall, dark French Soprano Yvonne Gall in La Basoche, Andre Messager's gay comic opera. Chicago believes that this season's deficit (last year's was $241,000) will be large as usual, and even larger for Patron Eckstein: other guarantors already feel pinched. But to all rumors of any change in policy...
