Michigan's football prospects have taken somewhat of a slump. The loss of Hughitt and Galt now leaves the Western college but two of last year's regulars. Of these Captain Haynsfor has been shifted to centre and Lyons to right end. But with Splawn's magnificent drop kicking and its inexperienced but very effective line, Michigan is still a very formidable opponent. Splawn is being drilled daily, kicking drops consistently from the 40-yard line. Michigan expects to win easily from Syracuse tomorrow with drop-kicks, for Coach Yost regards Splawn as the best drop-kicker of all time...

This week there will be still more changes, as the veteran Galt will probably be in shape to take his place at right half, and Watson expects to start at right tackle if his shoulder is strong enough. Cochran will then be shifted back to right guard, and the coaches will have a chance to see how their first choice linemen measure up in a real game...
