Brown, who took Harvey's place in centre field in the sixth, hit safely in the last of the seventh. Currier followed with his third hit of the game, placing Brown on third. Currier's attempt to draw a throw and allow Brown to score was unsuccessful as Brown was out at the plate. The University team added two more runs to the score in the eighth.
