Rommel's punishing lunge and successful withdrawal through Kasserine Gap is now history. ...Britain's First Lord of the Admiralty A. V. Alexander said last week: "In February we believe we have achieved the best results against the U-boat yet experienced. . . . There still is probably a larger output of U-boats than the total numbers being killed, but the gap is being reduced." With Bud Palmer setting the pace, the Tigers ran the count to 21-13 at half time. A foul by Dean Hennessey and a layup by Hugh Hyde in the last minute of the half, helped close the gap. Frank Bixler, who led the Harvard scoring with 10 points, started a brief Crimson rally in the second half after the Tigers had widened their advantage to 26-14. Bixler sandwiched three layup shots between a pair of fouls by Hyde and Dan Shields, but Palmer and his mates applied the pressure once again...

After many months of glib discussion on the question of a Negro-White mixed regiment, it is about time for some official Harvard student action--action to speak louder than all the words the subject has thus far stimulated. Most Harvard students realize that the wide gap between the preachment and the practise of democracy in the Army must be bridged; a foundation of that bridge lies in the mixed regiment, which is, in turn, a foundation itself for future liberalism and better racial attitudes in a post-war United States.
