In his cartoons, tubby Artist Hoffnung has created a wonderfully zany world-the bass fiddler peers from behind his instrument through a periscope; an old huge-wheeled bicycle becomes a harp; the phrenetic maestro sharpens his baton with a pencil sharpener.
