...University baseball team will play Phillips Exeter Academy this afternoon at Exeter, N. H., in the fifth regular game of the season. As this is the first game since the Southern trip, a good chance is offered to get an idea of the strength of the team. Three of last year's team, which Harvard defeated by the score of 13 to 2, have returned to Exeter this year; and although the team has been playing listlessly, it has shown ability at the bat, and promises to be as strong as usual...
...whole, the trip was fairly successful. The men were enabled to get a week of good practice, and were aided in their work by perfect weather conditions. Only in a few cases was any improvement shown in fielding, which was, nevertheless, for the most part, fast and accurate. In batting, there were some cases of individual improvement, but as a whole, the team did not bunch their hits to advantage. The most evident and universal weakness, however was the bunting, which was at no time satisfactory. Poor base-running was another conspicuous fault in the work of the team...
Practice for the University crew squad will begin this afternoon under the direction of E. L. Higginson, Jr., '00, and will continue through the vacation. The preliminary, work will be of much the same character as last year, and for the present will be light and intended to get the men accustomed to their riggers and to rowing together...
Sthu and Roger next display to the people a box in which they say they have the missing ear, and as the Hindoo Priest declares that the finder of the ear is entitled to the throne, Sthu is acclaimed rajah. Thinking possibly to get back the ear, the old rajah makes love to Lily Roger and wins her; Sthu in turn is favorably received by Sue Brett. But all scheming is ended by Punjab, who meets the Princess in the Mango grove of the rajah's gardens and obtains her half of the ear as well as a promise...
