Sanborn reports that work has been done at Gizeh, Memphis and Dendereh. At Gizeh a portion of the extensive necropolis belonging to the period of the Old Empire was cleared. Besides a number of stelae, the most interesting discovery was a vauit built of interlocking bricks; this is a unique example of such construction at so early a date. Assistant Professor G. A. Reisner, who has been in Egypt for the past seven years, and whose discoveries, especially in the neighborhood of Gizeh, have been startling, will return to the University for the second half-year.
