...freshman secret societies, but they are not recognized by the faculty. The next thing of any importance is flag-raising. This has ceased to be an active custom, but is sometimes observed. The freshmen try and raise a flag with their class numerals on it, the night of the Glee Club concert. The sophomores stand watch and try and prevent this, but the freshmen often succeed. The freshmen cannot carry canes until after Feb. 22d, when they appear with canes about six inches in diameter at the top and from three to four at the base. These are called bangers...

EDITORS DAILY CRIMSON:- At the Glee Club concert last Friday evening there was a great deal of complaint about the way the programmes were distributed. A great many who came in late were unable to get any, as all of those that had been placed in the seats were taken. It seems that there were enough of them to supply the audience, if some persons who came early had not pocketed an extra one for some friend. In future, cannot some better way be devised for distributing them, than by placing them in the seats where a person can take...
