...lull at the end of the school day, when the triumphant, jeering racket of departure has subsided and only the students doing extracurricular activities remain in the great building, Joryleen Grant comes up to Ahmad at his locker. He does track in the spring; she sings in the girls' glee club. As students go at Central High, they are "good." His religion keeps him from drugs and vice, though it also holds him rather aloof from his classmates and the studies on the curriculum. She is short and round and talks well in class, pleasing the teacher. There...
...hour schedule, Lamont has become—especially during the doldrums of reading and exam periods—a place of revelry more than a place of study. The signs were apparent from the beginning. As the clock struck midnight on October 18, 1,500 undergraduates congregated in euphoric glee to celebrate Lamont’s extended hours. A chorus of cheers filled the cramped foyer as burritos flew through the air and starved, studious students leaped for the free Felipe’s. “Party in Lamont,” as the Undergraduate Council labeled the event...

The performance also marks a unique collaboration between the three choirs: the all-male Glee Club, all-female Radcliffe Choral Society, and the mixed Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum. Throughout the year, each chorus conducts its own concert series under the masterful baton of Director of Choral Activities and Senior Lecturer on Music Jameson Marvin. The Holden Choirs, named after the chapel in which they often rehearse...
While the unmitigated glee some have shown towards Kaavya has clearly been unjust and unwarranted, it needs to be made clear that her behavior is not acceptable. But the role of passing judgment and of meting out punishment belongs to the authorities; in the case of rape, murder, or theft, it is not the community that passes judgment but rather, the courts of law. In Kaavya’s case, judgment will and should be passed by the Administrative Board of Harvard College, her publisher, and perhaps the courts. As a community we should refrain from mercilessly condemning her actions...
