...Thank you for "Thoughts on a Troubled El Dorado" [June 22]. I am a 17-year-old girl graduating from high school today with a peace symbol on my cap. I appreciate the opportunity you have provided for those mentally distant masses labeled the "Silent Majority" to catch some glimmer of understanding into the puzzle of my fellow protesters and students. The political and social extremists in America today may never be able to accept or condone each other's actions, but they must begin to listen and try at least to understand. Hopefully, listening will eventually lead...
Shocking as Eels. The new wet suits, exotic and brilliant as tropical fish, keep women just as fashionable under water as they should be on the sands of St. Tropez. Diving outfits by White Stag and Healthways glimmer in vivid hues; Parkway Fabricators offers a spectrum of shades, plus prints and patterns in color combinations as shocking as eels. The Voit Rubber Corp. highlights a collection of dazzlingly designed short-sleeved jackets, most popular for water-skiing but also considered eminently useful by such diverse divers as Prince Rainier of Monaco and Mets Pitcher Jerry Koosman...

When the courts resort to locking up lawyers we must realize how absurd quiet faith in the judicial process really is. One defendant thanked Hoffman for finally and totally exposing the American system...
...only other new program with a glimmer of interest is Pat Paulsen's Half a Comedy Hour (ABC). Smothers Alumnus Paulsen led off with an embarrassing sketch played in Minnesota with Hubert and Muriel Humphrey. The comic, who supposedly had a stalled car and no overcoat, took pratfalls in snow drifts while the former Vice President, who was all bundled up, made interminable chatter. Other opening-night visitors were Daffy Duck (in animation) and the unthinkable Debbie Reynolds. The one amusing bit in the whole 30 minutes was the closing segment in which Pat pleaded with the "Nielsen families...
