...Saturday afternoon, while playing football, E. S. Richards, '85, the Yale goal kicker and halfback, was seriously injured. He was thrown in a scrimmage and wrenched and bruised his kneepad in such a manner that he had to be carried from the field. He will probably be unable to play again this season. This is a great loss to Yale as Richards is one of the best goal kickers in the country...

...Williams Secretary, 39 Thayer, before 10 P. M., next Friday, the fees to be returned to the men who actually take part in the throwing. The first trial will be for long throwing. At a distance of 90 yds. from the take off two goal posts are to be stationed 25 yards apart; and each throw to be counted must be within the line of the posts. ...poor exhibition given by our team. Weight gave us the game it is true, but there is not a shadow of a doubt that in point of skill, in passing and kicking, we were fairly out-played. From the kick-off Harvard, carried the ball to Pennsylvania's goal and in 2 minutes Kendall secured a touchdown, completing our score, for Austin failed to kick the goal though the ball was almost directly in front of the bar. ...very good showing. They had the Roxbury Latin School eleven for opponents, and easily defeated them by a score of 22 points to 2. '87 had the kick off, and by a fumble of their opponent's full back, they scored a touchdown through Cochrane. Willard scored a goal a few minutes after from a touchdown by Keyes made after some brilliant passing and good running. The Latin School were forced to a safety touchdown by the good play of '87, but the freshmen failed to score anything further in the first three quarters. One of the Roxbury eleven...
