Coach Winsor sent team B against the first team for about ten minutes until the B. A. A. seven was ready for a scrimmage and then only allowed 20 minutes of work against the Boston squad. G. A. Peroy '18 started right in with a goal which he made after carrying the puck the entire length of the rink through the B. A. A. line and defence. Tuck, Jones, and Osgood each scored shortly afterwards for the amateur seven, and kept the play in the University's territory. J. I. Wylde '17 and E. M. Martin '18, particularly the latter...
...Dartmouth hockey team, though weakened by the absence of Ross, the star goal tender, defeated the Yale seven in their annual "Prom," game at New Haven on Monday by the score of 2 to 1. Dartmouth's victory was rather unexpected, in view of the recent showing Yale has made. Coach Fred Rocque, of Yale, used a new lineup which proved ineffective. Landon played in the defence, Bierwirth moving up to the forward line. Van Nostrand and Armour played the centre positions, and Gould, who has been ineligible until recently, played left wing. Bierwirth scored Yale's goal, while Paisley...
...scoring was started by Captain Morgan when he and Percy passed back and forth down the entire rink, Percy drawing the goal out and Morgan putting in an easy shot. Two minutes later Schoen shoved the puck out from behind the Crimson goal and it glanced off Captain Morgan's stick into the cage. Princeton forged into the lead before the end of the half when Schoen took advantage of an easy shot from in front of the goal...
...first half was marked by the failure of the Crimson to take advantage of its opportunities. Although the puck was almost continually around the Tiger goal for the first ten minutes the wings missed pass after pass when they were free and could have had easy shots. The left side of the line was slow and failed to show much headwork; Rice improved considerably in the second half, but Baker was taken out before he could redeem himself. Another fault was the failure of the line to cover their men, and allowing themselves to be covered by the Princeton players...
...feature of the game tonight will be the comparison of two unusually strong defensive trios. At goal, J. I. Wylde '17 and Ford both rank high in hockey circles. Captain J. E. P. Morgan '17 is probably the best defence player in intercollegiate hockey today, and T. C. Thacher '18 is another very fast back. Comey and Scully, the Princeton primary defence men, proved their ability against the University two weeks...
