...June 20.--All the crews went out for short rows this morning in front of the quarters. The University crew did not go out again until late this afternoon when they rowed down stream as far as the Navy Yard in search of smooth water. The conditions were poor and no time was taken. The blade work, however, was good and a general improvement was noticeable. The Freshman crew went out early this afternoon but owing to the rough water good work was impossible.
