Like tennis and golf, snowboarding has functioned with independently contracted athletes enjoying, in some cases, six-figure contracts. At competitions, snowboarders are usually adorned with various sponsors' logos. Within the Olympic system, competitors must wear officially sanctioned uniforms provided by a contracted supplier.
