...Good Lesson. None of the criticism seemed to ruffle Rupert Murdoch, the hustling, young (38) Australian who last January added the News of the World to the seven papers he owns Down Under. After he and his wife Anna read Christine's manuscript, Murdoch paid ?20,000 for serialization rights, describing Christine's recounting as "a good lesson to all politicians." ...about the premature retirement of Don Perkins. Coach Tom Landry says unequivocally: "Hill is the best running back we've ever had." After two games, Hill had barreled for 208 yds. (an average of 5.1 yds. per carry) to lead the N.F.L. in that department. Hill has amazingly good balance for a big man and runs nearly as well in a broken field as through a tightly packed line. ...overlook the fact that Destroy, She Said is mummifyingly boring, it is actually quite a lot of fun. Marguerite Duras, who executed this excellent satire, has good credentials for the job. Besides writing the screenplays for Hiroshima, Mon Amour and Une Aussi Longue Absence she also attended the birth of the anti-novel movement, making such notable contributions to the genre as Moderato Cantabile and The Sea Wall. In her directorial debut, she has unfortunately committed one rather crucial error. She seems to have been the only one who didn't get her own joke...
