...band somehow managed to play a sterling, albeit too-short, set and escape the stage without uttering a single word. This disrespect for the traditional protocol of the rock band concert goes a long way towards explaining why Death In Vegas' music, both recorded and live, is as good as it is: the band just doesn't care what you think and is all the better...

...only good thing I think that comes out of all this is the fact that the shows in Vegas tend to be more sophisticated and exciting than anything you'll see on Broadway. It's a bold statement, but you need at least 10 trips to Vegas to catch all the worthy productions. On this, our 17th go at it, we hit the jackpot. After seeing the spectacular musical "Chicago" at Mandalay Bay the first night, we somehow managed to finagle tickets to see sold-out 'NSync at the MGM Grand Garden Arena the following night...

...Anna and the King, The Hurricane, and The Talented Mr. Ripley? Why don't these studio heads realize how ridiculously long 2 hrs and 40 minutes is for a movie that isn't about a sinking boat? In order to see these four films (all presumably good ones), you'll have to spend almost 12 hours in a movie theater over Christmas break. But if you want to watch Toy Story 2 four times - a movie that no doubt is better than any of those will be - it'll take you a curt six hours... Speaking of Toy Story...

They emerge from a cocoon of joyful noise as characters and personalities--the joker, the bully, the runt--whose only means of expression is the fervent beat of a drum. Each member was as good an actor and dancer as percussionist. As a result, it is difficult to name the "star" of the show.
