Dartmouth will be stronger in the field events with two men, Palmer and Holdman, doing over 5 feet, 10 inches in the high jump and Sherman and Gray good for 21 1.2 feet in the broad jump. There are also two men, Holdman and Jenks, who can do II feet in the pole-vault. Pevear of Dartmouth is entered in both the shot-put and hammer-throw and should be among the point winners...
...many changes have been made in the Junior crew that they are not as good as they were before the vacation. Rackemann and Ellis have been used on the University second crew this week, and consequently Vaughan has been changed from 2 to bow and Haines has been put in his place. The boat has been fairly steady and there is plenty of snap in the work, but the time has not been so good nor the rowing in general so smooth as before the changes...
Several experiments have been made to find a man to till Perkins's place at 3 in the Freshman boat. Whitney was tried for a few days, then Oveson was put in, and Peabody rowed that position yesterday. The Freshmen are powerful, and their slide work is good, but otherwise they still show roughness...
