Possibly both these methods might be combined with good results, and the elimination of the five-yard boundary would be especially good, as any simplification of the work of the officials is to be commended. The one objection to the rules as they now stand is that the official's attention is so taken up by looking for geometrical violation of the rules that it cannot be placed so thoroughly on the more important points of conduct and play...

...first goal was made towards the end of the first half; Rumsey carrying the puck down the ice by good dodging passed to Pell who scored on a hard shot from the side. The Harvard defence was especially strong during this period, usually stopping their opponents before they could shoot. Early in the second half, Ford carried the puck through the entire opposing team by very clever dodging and passed to Rumsey, who scored on a short shot from in front of the goal. A few minutes later, Pell and Rumsey worked an excellent piece of passing down the side...
