With the score tied, Leach struck out. Gould got a clean hit by Soule, and then came Frothingham's most beautiful double play to Dickinson, making the third out. Highlands stepped up and lined out a two bagger, greatly to the surprise of the Amherst men. He took third on a well lined sacrifice by Cobb, and scored the winning run, as Sullivan let Mason's bat grounder through his hands...
