Died. Georgy Nikolaevich Zarubin, 58, Russian Ambassador to the U.S. from 1952 until last January; of a heart attack; in Moscow. Where he appeared, Western secrets tended to vanish. In 1945, during Zarubin's tenure as first Soviet Ambassador to Canada, Russian Embassy Clerk Igor Gouzenko defected and revealed the existence of a Red spy ring that had vacuumed Canada for strategic information, had shipped samples of pure Uranium 235 off to Moscow.
