...cruise lines have ordered an astonishing $10 billion worth of floating pleasure palaces, some of which will be the largest passenger ships ever built. The new vessels, to be delivered through 2002, will increase the number of berths a whopping 50%. Among them: the $450 million, 2,600-passenger Grand Princess, flagship of the Princess line. At a record-breaking 109,353 tons (the Titanic displaced, temporarily, 46,328 tons), Grand Princess will have 15 decks, three show lounges and the world's largest floating casino when it sails this month from Istanbul...

Frequent traders can also miss out on juicy profits, as Ron Garrett, who buys and sells stock while shaving, has painfully discovered. Garrett, professor of engineering at Grand Valley State University in Michigan, bought computer maker Unisys for $5 a share some time ago, only to dump it a few months later when it failed to show a quick gain. "If I didn't have easy access [to trading] maybe I wouldn't have jumped so fast," Garrett says of his sale of Unisys, which closed last week at $23 a share...

Levine, a onetime martial-arts student, imported Krav Maga to the West Coast in 1981, following a stint in Israel, where he learned from grand master Imi Lichtenfeld, the late creator of Krav Maga.
