...sextet seen at Harvard in a long time. The entire 1956-57 team, which went to the NCAA finals in Colorado, was back with the exception of the goalie, Jim Bailey. Harry Pratt proved himself an able replacement for Bailey as the season progressed and Bruce Gillie and Mike Graney came up from last year's freshman team to give added depth. ...varsity lineup will remain the same tonight as Captain Bob Cleary will start on the first line along with Lyle Guttu and Terry O'Malley. Bruce Gillie and Bob McVey are two sure starters on the second line and it is expected that Dick Fischer, Mike Graney, and Dave Vietze will all see some service in the third position. Dan Ullyot, one of the varsity's steadiest defensemen was out with an injured leg but Mike Graney took over for him tonight and played a very good game. All four defensemen, Dick MaLaughlin, Les Duncan, Ed Owen, and Graney, checked well, broke up practically all of the Eagle attacks, and kept the puck coming back to their linemen...

...second line of Bruce Gillie, Bob McVey, and Mike Graney has not been scoring as much as expected, but it has been definitely superior to any comparable line put on by the opposition. Bud Higginbottom, Dick Fisher, and Dave Vietze at third line also fit this description, being far better than any other third or even second line in the East. Supplied with this wealth of good linemen, varsity coach Cooney Weiland can simply use them to wear the other team down and then capitalize in the third period...
