Immediately after the kickoff, the first team secured the ball on downs at the 30 yard line. Shea gained 5 yards, Kernan made the same distance around the end, Knowlton an Graydon advanced 8 yards in three plays, the former went through right guard for 5 yards and again for 6 yards, and from the 1 yard line Graydon made the only touchdown of the afternoon. During the remainder of the game the second eleven was allowed to keep the ball nearly the whole time, but was unable to make any impression on the first eleven's line...
