Manhattan's Kidder, Peabody & Co. this week gave parents a Christmas tip: give the kiddies investment trust shares that can "grow with the years." For gifts of $100 in mutual fund shares, Kidder, Peabody would furnish a green-edged gift certificate listing the shares purchased.
