Best Actor: Samuel L. Jackson, for Jackie Brown. Okay, so the movie wasn't what anyone expected. But it's high time everyone acknowledged Jackson's genius. He's too raw and too passionate for the Academy, but those gremlin eyes have lit fires under young people since Pulp Fiction...
Lipinski skates with a sort of fairy confidence in easy landings. And until last week, her biggest gremlin was her triple Lutz, dubbed the "triple flutz" because she cheats slightly on the takeoff by leaning heavily on the inside of her blade. Then she stumbled on the triple flip in the short program, drawing marks as low as 5.2 for technical merit. Many viewers are amused by the Noid, Domino's says, but one of them took the advertising campaign personally. Last week Kenneth Noid, 22, walked into a Domino's Pizza shop in Chamblee, Ga., with a .357 Magnum revolver and took two employees hostage. When police arrived, he demanded $100,000 in cash, a getaway car and a copy of The Widow's Son, a 1985 novel...
