...Charles Gross was born in Troy, N.Y. on February 10, 1857. He was graduated from Williams College in 1878 with the degree of Bachelor of Arts. During his life he received degrees of A.M. from Williams College, Ph.D. from University of Gottingen, A.M. from Harvard University, and LL.D. from Williams College.
