...tradition of the 1960s, Robinson's group staged hymn-singing marches. Some of his followers were arrested, but the marches spread to Lexington, Okolona, Canton and Corinth. The Ku Klux Klan held counterdemonstrations, and there were scattered episodes of violence. Robinson's tactics are not born of nostalgia; they fit his perception of the problem. "There's no such thing as the New South," he says bitterly. "There's more racism in Mississippi in 1978 than there was in 1972." But some blacks see Robinson's approach as self-defeating. When the Tupelo city government...

...problem that he faced was a cruel one: what to do about 68 FBI agents and supervisors who had violated federal laws while searching for members of the radical, bomb-throwing Weatherman group in the early 1970s. Agents had burglarized the revolutionaries' homes, tapped their phones without warrants and monitored their mail. Gray and two former top assistants, Deputy Director W. Mark Felt and Intelligence Chief Edward Miller, had earlier been charged with violating citizens' civil rights. ...expect to find on albums designed to keep up with current opinions on relations between sexes. But this is simply a Chaka Khan-oriented album, with room for anyone else who agrees with her. And the agreement is very important. For Khan's last album with Rufus, Streetplayer, the group operated under one management and Khan had another. The split widened and Khan struck out on her own. The songs she has assembled with the aid of her friends reflect her comfort and security with the new arrangement...

...blame must be with Friedkin, since the cast couldn't be better. The Brink's gang is played by a bunch of lovable actors who delight in the roles of these bumbling underdogs. Heading the group is Peter Falk as the mastermind--if you can call him that--of this near-perfect heist. His criminal genius is somewhat in doubt, since the movie opens with one of his novice efforts, the burglary of a sausage factory. After much tool-dropping and other displays of incompetence, the job ends with Falk hiding in a room full of chickens, only...

...redundant. Harvard has some extremely competent management investors and I am sure the administration has professionals to deal with other facets of these subjects. Not only is the ACSR's concentration on them inappropriate, it is dysfunctional. The ACSR was set up in response to student demands for a group to investigate the social and moral aspects of Harvard's actions and lack thereof. Although social consequences are sometimes discussed, they tend to appear secondary and the discussions are largely superficial. When the question that Harvard might be sued was raised, ACSR members discussed the negative fiscal and legal consequences...
