After the Shah's arrival in New York in late October, Iranian students in the U.S. launched a series of protests. Despite the clamor, there is little chance that Iranian students as a group will be forced to leave the U.S. Though it is currently in the process of deporting 4,300 Iranian nationals on grounds that they have broken immigration rules, the Carter Administration has ruled out mass "summary" expulsion of the students.
