Encouraging indications were manifested in the Forum of last night. Although the European war was not brought to an end by the enthusiastic discussions, nevertheless, the Forum achieved success. There are, fortunately, a group of men in the University who are keenly following the economic and political affairs of the nations of the world, and who enjoy to discuss them openly in a sound manner. There must also be other men who are keenly following the march of events in other fields, and Forums of the future will welcome those who did not take part in the discussions last evening...

Hoffmire, Potter, Windnagle, Corwith, Silbert and Speiden are the men upon whom Cornell rests her hopes. University football, assumed a more wholesome aspect when a number of regulars, together with a group of Canadian rugby players, appeared on the field yesterday afternoon. None of the first string men were injured seriously in Saturday's game against Tufts, and a number of recent invalids were out for the first time. Trumbull, despite the severe cut which he received on his face, will be able to play by the end of the week, while Hardwick ran through signals with the University team. ...first part of September, he made a short visit to the Great Barrier Reefs on the Queensland Coast of Northeastern Australia, and on September 11, sailed from Sydney via New Zealand to the Society Islands, where he will spend a month examining Tahiti and other members of that group. But in that case the seats applied for other than the cheering section seat will be assigned in the non-personal group. Applications for the different games must be made on separate blanks.
