Throughout the year, Rosovsky has been pleased with the way his bureaucratic relationship with Dreben has worked out. Having one person in charge of all GSAS matters takes a lot of the burden of daily administration off of Rosovsky's shoulders, while in College matters he has found that people often bring their problems to him--which takes up a lot of time Rosovsky would rather be spending in other ways...

Take for example the case of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, which supplies Harvard with the bulk of its academic staff. Of the 550 students who were admitted to GSAS last fall, only eight were black. Under conditions such as these, it is little wonder that Harvard can make the claim it must go slow on affirmative action because it can not find enough qualified minority candidates for Faculty posts...
Over 50 graduate students have formed a Harvard Radical Union and are meeting this week to discuss organizing study groups and a handbook for next year's entering GSAS students...
