...Does your medical training inform your writing in any way? Not that I'm aware of, frankly. Part of the attraction of writing when I was in practice was that it was such a radically different undertaking than medicine, which is very regimented and straightforward. I guess the only thing I would say is, both as a writer and as a doctor, especially in primary care, you have to have a sense of people. It doesn't hurt to have some kind of understanding of why people behave the way they do, what motivates them, what they're afraid...
...King, Jr. while singing about his mid-life crisis. Isn’t hard rock supposed to be more exciting than this? Rose wails a response on “Catcher in the Rye:” “If I thought that I was crazy / Well I guess I’d have more fun.” Ditto, Axl. 2008 has seen a slew of new releases from seemingly defunct bands, the best of which is Metallica’s “Death Magnetic,” released this past September. “Chinese Democracy?...

Typically, you are offered a ride-along with the CEO to watch the big boss in Action Mode. I'm not really sure if this is designed to impress or if it's simply an effective...
Yeah, well, the campaign was bemusing. One of the wonderful things about it is the people I've always referred to as "Sabbath gasbags" - the Washington people who appear on television on Sunday - were wrong, I guess, 100% of the time. They were almost never right. There were constant surprises. Who expected any of this stuff? It was only in looking back at it that you realized, hey, at one point this was going to be [Rudy] Giuliani vs. Hillary Clinton...
