From six strings to 12 steps. That's where guitarist ERIC CLAPTON will take his career this month when he opens the Crossroads Centre for drug and alcohol treatment on Antigua. Clapton is a recovering addict who has been sober for a decade. Now the man with the famously slow hand is extending it to others by using a significant chunk of his own money to found the 28-day treatment center on the idyllic island where he's had a second home for 15 years. One-third of the center's 36 beds will be reserved for low-income...

Drummond and McNabb combine for some funky bass lines and techno beats, which are also prevalent on the first track, "Je ne m'en Souviens pas." More than...

Bessie's soulful vocal chords are those of Boston veteran actress Michelle Dowd, whose blues tunes are harmoniously accompanied by a talented on-stage guitarist, Lance Vallis...

...Guitarist and other vocalist Mark Roberts thought better, and so started a band with Lewis. Catatonia went on to take Owen Powell on guitar, Paul Jones on bass, an Aled Richards on drums, all of whom are Cardiff cads save the last, who is a Llanelli lad. Their first album Way Beyond Blue came out in 1996 to high praise from critics, but entered the charts as 40. And stayed there. The same year, they re-released their most renowned underground record Bleed, which did not even chart in the top 40. 1997 saw the single...
