Brown played miserably in the field, and was pitiably weak at the bat. The notable exception to the poor play of Brown was Clarke. He supported Gunderson as well as could be desired, and threw to bases beautifully, catching three Harvard men napping. Harvard played a good game with the exception of the third inning, when they went badly to pieces. Smith pitched a good game, and Henshaw caught him finely, and threw to bases well.
