...shoved in every letterbox. Instead, it has been met with either irritated silence or trite complaints. The feckless comments made to a discussion thread on the BBC news website were typical: "So the choice is, eat boring food, drink no alcohol and spend all my spare time in a gym in exchange for 10 extra years in an old people's home," read one. "If we listened to these scientists we would all be like supermodels eating a lettuce leaf for dinner," scoffed another wit. A couple of entries inevitably referenced the old debauchees that so many of us claim...

There’s that new-paint smell and some spiffier bathrooms, but the improvements to the Malkin Athletic Center (MAC) are mostly too subtle to impress students, according to gym-goers interviewed yesterday. After the MAC closed for improvements last March, athletes migrated to Hemenway Gymnasium. Students said working out at the TV-outfitted, air-conditioned law school gym fed high expectations for the MAC’s re-opening Tuesday. “I thought they were going to do something with it like add another floor or something crazy like that,” said Shane...

Most of the company is similarly blameless, but that doesn’t make them interesting to watch. Karen McDonald gets a few laughs as an uptight, dim-witted gym teacher. Thomas Derrah is more entertaining as a motivational speaker, but is never on stage long enough to exude anything other than superficial sliminess. Sarah Jorge Leon, as one of Donnie’s teachers, is the only performer who actively wastes her own stage time, sounding immature in scenes where she should be speaking as the voice of reason...
