Debating at Yale this year is on a more substantial basis than ever before. All the debating organizations in the university have united under one head called the Yale Debating Association. About a month ago a meeting was held under the auspices of this association at which President Hadley and Professor Sumner made addresses on the history and advantages of college debating. President Hadley of Yale has announced that architect's plans are now being considered by the corporation for the centennial memorial building which Yale plans to erect before 1901. It will be somewhat similar to Memorial Hall but on a larger scale. It will contain an auditorium and dining hall, and, in connection with it, will be office buildings for the president and the executive officers of the university.
